I did a thing!
This year I took part in my very first game jam (find out more about it here http://www.pegjam.com/ )and it was awesome. I didn’t really know what to expect from it being very new to all this stuff, but I met so many great people and learned a lot about making games.
I also got to partner up with my super awesome cousin Kyle Gray of Camasa Studios whose work you can check out here http://www.camasastudios.com/ or on his facebook page. He’s a video game programmer and I’m an artist, couldn’t ask for a better partner to snag for this weekend.
This whole thing ran over 4 days, Thurs/Fri evening for some great talks and time to organize/team up. then we had Sat/Sun to git’r done.
And Git’r done we did.
Kyle coded like a champ and I drew until my arm was literally dead. and we made a flippin game that you can actually play.
A game of screwing your friends over as much as possible and saving yourself. We really wanted to push some good morals with this one – we’re thinking 5-12 age demographic.
All in all I think this weekend was a huge success, we learned how much work we could do in a super short period of time and we got to make some cool new friends and contacts in the process. It doesn’t get better than that.
With much ado you can follow the link below to check out our game:
Let us know what you think, we’d like to keep adding onto this rough base to hopefully make something complete and marketable.
